Gen-Z "Marriage" Isn't Looking Too Great
Analyzing Gen Z Relationship Nihilism Through a Historical and Religious Lens
Discover why contemporary Gen Z trends in sexuality and relationships, critiqued in recent media, mirror historical societal collapses. Learn how abandoning established frameworks leads to predictable, negative outcomes, regardless of perceived rebellion.
Short Summary
- Analysis anchors modern relationship turmoil (polyamory, gender change) in historical pagan patterns, not new social progress.
- The speaker critiques licensed therapists for encouraging divorce while condemning critiques of gender identity as professionally dangerous.
- Abandoning religious structures, like traditional marriage, before engaging in radical experimentation results in losing foundational value for little gain.
This segment breaks down Michael Knowles' reaction to a New York Times piece on Gen Z divorce, mapping current sexual and relational choices onto historical cycles of societal decline and highlighting the irony of seeking novelty while forfeiting stability.

It's incredibly depressing to grow up in a generation with women who don't want to get married or have children.
My wife and I just got married October 5th! We are both 21 years old. I love her so much!!!!
As a perpetually single guy it’s almost impossible to meet girls.
I turned 19 and married the love of my life who was 20. We had 27 wonderful years with two children and lots of animals. When I lost him to a very serious car crash my whole world changed. But I am grateful to GOD that we had that time together. Never give up on love. We met in hs. I would have never dated him as he was a real hound. He ended up in the Navy. After basic he had leave and came home. He kept showing up everywhere I was. Finally we began dating and eventually married. He and I changed after hs. So do not give up. People can change. One of those people could be a future wife or husband.
2:03 I think a lot of women want a wedding and a ring and not an actual marriage. They spend thousands of dollars planning one day. They dream of one day. When that one day is over they realize maybe this isn’t what they really wanted because they were too focused on a wedding. They are also told if they aren’t delightfully happy all the time to just get divorced because, yolo. 🙄
Divorce has become almost a fashionable thing, as though it's something to brag about. As soon as a couple is vaguely unhappy, they'll split after making a lifelong vow in front of family & friends. There's no shame associated with divorce anymore.
This generation has been so messed up, especially in terms of a good relationship. I am a Christian gen-z woman and I have seen so many relationships, in my friend group, that go bad for some small reason.
I know of 4 polywhatever/open marraiges. They all ended in divorce. Sad for the kids😢
As long as divorce laws are so insanely biased against men, it's in their best interest not to marry...
Why would I enter an agreement where the other party benefits the most by breaking it. Change divorce laws.
