GENDER WAR: Gen Z Men, Women OPPOSITE On Having Kids
Gen Z’s Diverging Views on Success: Politics, Family, and Economics
Analyzing NBC News polling reveals a sharp disconnect in what success means for Gen Z men versus women, linked heavily to political affiliation. Understand how economic pressures and cultural shifts might be fracturing traditional life goals within this generation.
Short Summary
- Gen Z men supporting Trump prioritize having children (No. 1) and marriage highly, while Gen Z women supporting Harris place these goals at the bottom.
- Career fulfillment and financial independence remain high priorities across most tracked groups, suggesting economic anxiety underlies definitions of success.
- Speakers suggest these divergences are downstream of neoliberal culture, hyperindividualism, and structural economic barriers making traditional milestones unattainable.
- Political approval tracking shows Donald Trump losing significant ground among crucial young and Hispanic voting blocs since February.
The discussion uses recent polling to map the growing gender and partisan divide in defining personal success among Generation Z. The hosts explore whether this shift reflects cultural evolution, a deliberate rejection of established norms, or a rational response to an economy where traditional markers of success are increasingly out of reach. This analysis provides context for ongoing political volatility.

Krystal, Saagar, you should stay on the topic of gender divide, cause you guys are barely scratching the surface of this issue.
Everyone on all of those lists values "Having no debt" too little.
This country is a corporation, it is not a place to have and raise a family
"29 to 35 are set in their career" HA... Saagar... many of us could only dream out here... lol
Saagar, the oldest millenials are in their 40s.
Rent, gas, utilities and if I'm lucky, food in the fridge. Why in the hell would I add a baby into that mix?
If we are all individuals its almost insane to have kids. Raising kids is a great joy in a real community.
Nothing scares a person more than having kids and a family than not being able to support them. There is no way to be middle class and feel comfortable in this country or economy.
"Treat women poorly, women suck, dont have anything to do with them." How dishonest Krystal. It doesn't even make sense to treat women poorly while leaving them alone.
@Saagar - my oldest daughter was always worried about being able to afford having kids. My youngest 22- when asked says, why would anyone want to have kids in this world? The world and country are going to shit, why bring a child into that.
