Trump COMPLETELY REBUKED by Supreme Court ahead of ELECTIONS!!!

Attorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian cover the 5-4 ruling in Watson v. Republican National Committee, where Justice Amy Coney Barrett, a Trump appointee, wrote the majority opinion upholding Mississippi's law allowing mail ballots postmarked by Election Day to be counted up to five days later. Barrett wrote: "The electorate's choice is made when voting is complete, not when ballots are received." Chief Justice Roberts and the three liberal justices joined her. The RNC, backed by the Trump administration's Solicitor General, argued that federal law requires ballots to be received by Election Day. Mississippi's lawyer responded that the government "sounded the anti-fraud theme" but couldn't produce "a single example of fraud from post-Election Day ballot receipt in this century." Trump called the ruling "a tremendous loss" and demanded Congress pass the SAVE Act. The decision preserves grace period laws in 14 states plus D.C. and protects late-arrival rules for military and overseas voters in 30 states. Brian and Shant note the objective fact: restricting mail voting disproportionately affects lower-income voters and voters of color. Mail voting fraud accounts for 0.000043% of all mail ballots cast. Barrett's conclusion: "The election-day statutes say nothing about ballot receipt, and we cannot add to the words Congress chose."
