Over the last 3 years I've corrected nearly every damage ever done to my body by focus feeling/sensing and slow intentional movements, bringing every part of my body to its furthest extension every day. This was a long slow process with daily small rewards which kept me going. I simply trusted trust that God made my body to heal itself and it knows what to do. The body is super intelligent!
This is fantastic news! I've been deliberately not wearing shoes since 2019. To increase my internal health and well being I started waking with the sun and bare feet grounding practices daily. I also love myopractic therapy which is a form of soft tissue (fascia) therapy. It's been the only pain relief therapy that has acually helped improve the chronic pain I had from getting a pelvis reconstruction and two hip replacements after a road bike accident in 2010. I didn't know how to explain the feelings I've had since not wearing shoes and getting myopractic therapy, but now I know the improvements I've noticed are not in my imagination but based in ancient practises. Way cool! Thanks for sharing!
As a teacher of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts who focuses heavily on Fascia development, I'm so happy to watch this interview and see the integration between traditional training methods and modern science.
Fascia is something traind in traditional martial arts. The goal of training the fascia is called iron shirt or golden bell cover
8:38 mine does. I have been amazed my whole life by how quick and responsive my body is with reactions that save me from serious pain. I can walk barefoot without any worries, and step on something sharp and as soon as the bottom of my foot touches the object, my knee, hip, anything, will give just right to avoid any more pressure on the sharp object. Even if im running or jogging. The bodys background processes detect everything so quick as if it's all happening in slow motion. Those same reactions have saved me countless twisted or broken ankles while trail running in low light. The body is an unbelievable vessel
All this news about fascia is revolutionary in my understanding of how our bodies stay fit and age. I’ve been doing fascia exercises for only two weeks, and already can see the results. Just amazing!
I’ll never forget a guy @ the gym who was saying he could squat 500 pounds but can’t get up off the floor. Crazy 🤪…
My first judo teacher is Japanese. He’s been doing judo since he was 6 years old. He’s like 5’2”, and is incredibly strong, and flexible and strong in weird and seemingly compromised positions. Squatting culture + training early in life.
Ive been doing parkour naturally since I've been a toddler basically. I climbed everything I could see. Now I am extremely agile and light on my feet, you could say I move in a graceful and effortless way. And it makes sense why I am inclined this way. It's just fascia integration training since a young age. Glad I general interest in it as a child. Funny fact, I have toned and perky glutes, without training them with weights at all. Even being injured multiple times and not doing any movement at all, my body holds on to its tone exceptionally well. Great podcast
I'm a yoga teacher & currently teaching a marathon runners retreat. I found this so interesting! Thank you.
