My brother was Doge’d from his managerial job last year at the USDA where he tracked and dealt with herd/flock diseases like this one, also Avian flu, Newcastle virus, and making sure the prion disease (“mad cow”) didn’t appear in our beef , and others. He is a trained large animal and horse veterinarian with over 30 yrs experience, starting as a private vet then working for the USDA in the field with the sick animals then moving up to management. You can’t replace that kind of expertise -including hands on—in a day or with sycophants or by hiring new vet school grads. And RFKJr initially proposed that the avian flu be allowed to run its course through flocks of chickens to create natural immunity— which would basically decimate the US poultry industry and put the farmers out of business. He backed off from that crazy viewpoint but he has many other crazy beliefs. RFKJr ( the F stands for fu@ker in his case) probably thinks we should eat the worms for protein. We are back in 1905 the era when Upton Sinclair wrote The Jungle disclosing that there were human body parts and vermin in the meat factories, which is when the USDA was created.
