If a cigar could talk, it would sound like Ron White.
Hearing Ron talk about a moment in his life, where he was so down bad that he couldn’t even talk to other people… is so real and more helpful to people like me than I think he will ever realize. Thank you, Ron, for always telling your story and for always keeping it real. Don’t ever give up, people ❤
His son (tader tot) went to my highhschool in NC. My mom was probably more excited about getting a picture with Ron White at my graduation than me actually graduating 😂😂😂😂
I just got chills listening to Joe's Hartman dream. I had the exact same kind of dream in my 20s. A friend was killed in a car wreck and it destroyed me for weeks. Then I had a dream that I ran into him in the high cafeteria. I looked at him and said what's going on, I thought you were dead. He said he wasn't he was fine. I started giving him shit like dude, wtf we were all wrecked. Dude we had a funeral. Then in the dream, I realized it was a dream. I looked at him " oh man, this is a dream. You're really dead" He said "it's OK. I'm ok." I said" you're ok?" He said " I'm ok" and stood up from the table, backed away and faded out and I woke up and I was ok. That was 40 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday.
Ron White needs to do a western. He has the look and the voice. Give that man a role!
When Ron said he was so depressed he couldn't have a conversation with people I felt that. I have never heard someone say it out loud but that is exactly how it is.
I saw Ron White years ago when I was working at The UPS Store. One day at the end of a shift a giant bus pulls up in front of the store. Some guy came in and wanted copies and I was closing one of the drawers cause it was the end of the shift. My dad was working there at the time and helped this guy with what he needed and I sort of heard them talking but I was locked in to doing my job. My dad gets the guy checked out from his copies and that guy left. My dad comes up to me and asks if I want to go to a show that night. Turns out that guy was Ron Whites Tour Manager and he snagged us third row seats for the show that night. Incredible set and I’ve never laughed harder. Brilliant comedian and class act. If you get the chance to see him, take it. You won’t regret it.
Ron is a Texan, went to high school in Deer Park with him. Quiet guy but always loyal with his buddies.
Finally a pod with a comedian where they talk about the Austin comedy scene and what happened during the pandemic. It’s about time.
Hearing Ron talk about the deep depression he's experienced is so relatable and strangely comforting. It's a reminder that even successful, funny people go through dark times, and that it's okay to not be okay. Appreciate the honesty, Ron.
