I'm not on this list so it can't be right
I like how Prime went from not a being a fan of uncle bob to understanding the nuances of his viewpoint, in many ways agreeing with uncle bob and becoming friends with uncle bob. Wholesome.
The "less heads" thing got me good.
Going to buy this book. I love computer history and Uncle Bobs enthusiasm and passion for it is amazing. The way big tech is going is a big downer, but at the end of the day, it's amazing what we can do with computers for other people and ourselves.
I feel like bob undersells von neumann quite a bit, particularly relating to the war, wherein he wrote a book inventing game theory at the exact same time as he was doing ballistics and nuclear physics. Also Von Neumann had some great quote tweets, like the following to Oppenheimer, "Sometimes someone confesses a sin in order to take credit for it."
A few weeks ago I was telling my spouse, "I really wish there were more books on the history of software engineering." Lo and behold, a few weeks later this video came out and I am so happy! Instantly bought Uncle Bob's book. Such a great convo, great job guys.
12:15 fewer heads 🗣️ 💀😂😂
The Einstein / Hilbert section cracked me up. My old boss had a saying: "Theory guides. Experiment decides."
Need an audio book version
9:53 lost it on the way that Prime looked to the camera
