Job openings are not jobs
If you have to jump through all these hoops for a career that isn't going to give you even moderate job security, it's time to look for a different career path. A lot lay-offs are going to happen in 2026
These are some of the reasons I think as an international student faces rejection: Sometimes companies do not sponsor, sometimes I am under-qualified, sometimes I am overqualified, sometimes I don't have exact experience, sometimes I don't have certifications, sometimes I don't have 5 years of experience, sometimes I lack something I don't even know and sometimes companies don't even reply for months, sometimes it is just the job market, sometimes it is not the job market but it feels like its me.
The problem is not lack of jobs, but the over graduating in IT. Too much commercials during 2015 to 2020 about "A day in a life of software engineer", "We can never higher enough engineers", you have a guaranteed job security, good income and benefits if you know how to code. It attracted lot of students and now half of graduates are in IT, they are all competing for the same amount of positions, companies can get picky. If you newer where interested in IT, looked in IT career only because the promise of job security, salary and benefits, maybe it is time to reconsider a different career path. Many companies over hired during covid and need to adjust.
Ofc he say that, he wanna sell his products. What you want him to say we are screwed? 😂 Psst... we are 😉
