IMO, the defendant is safer with cameras in the courtroom. I’m a pharmacist and everything I do is recorded. Those cameras protect me . They don’t lie about what happened.
"Sorry, theres a gag order" is the equivalent of "my mom said I can't go"
Some things are so impossible to describe too. You need a camera to truly understand what happened. Imagine a reporter trying to explain Heard’s face after telling the story of her dog stepping on the bee or a reporter trying to explain the muffin man exchange. Actually those nuanced details probably wouldn’t even be in a reporters coverage. It’s these little, bizarre things that I love the most. I started watching the Depp-Heard trial because it was Johnny Depp. I kept watching because I realized the entire court process down to the lawyers is absolutely fascinating.
Without televised coverage of the Depp trial, millions would not have changed their minds about guilt.
I’ve been watching your videos since pre-purple hair and the silent wave at the beginning still tricks me into thinking my sound isn’t working *_every. single. time._* 😂💜
Let's not forget, during the investigation, they were everywhere talking about how poorly the police were doing. But yet, the police were quietly investigating, with no leaks, and were already onto the suspect. I don't blame the police or prosecution AT ALL for not sharing things with Mr. Goncalves or Mr. Gray. They were in the media way too much and could have easily compromised the investigation. I fail to understand why they are so adamant about being in the press. While I cannot put myself in their shoes, I would have to imagine they would not want to jeopardize the case and risk an issue with a possible conviction. I vote to keep the gag order to preserve the trial, and allow cameras in the courtroom for transparency. We all saw how the media reported Depp v. Heard.....
I recently watched a few minutes of a true crime commentary channel covering this case and it was ridiculous. Thank you, Emily for always covering the facts & not all the fuckery out there.
If the Brooks trial wasnt televised i would have never believed his antics...
_Something something, politics. Something something, bleh._ That’s it. That’s the headline.
“y’all are super smart, intuitive… annnnd hydratedddd 😂” emily you made me giggle as i’m slurping my iced coffee
