As a Mexican I refused to be associated with this movie in any way shape or form lol it’s beyond ridiculous and Selena’s Spanish is unintelligible. I had to read the subtitles in Spanish to understand her and Spanish is my first language 😆
They left Mexico as the last country for this movie to be released. And we hated it, mexican social media is currently shiting all over it and canceling Guillermo del Toro for defending it :D
This sounds like a South Park episode.
As a native Spanish speaker, EVERYTHING about this movie SUCKS!!!! From the narco apologetic narrative, to the stupid unrealistic accents and shitty songs. I hate this movie with a passion
ALL MEXICO HATE THIS FILM!
Shouldn't musicals have people who can sing?
What sick world are we living in, why are we romanticizing drug lords?!
The disappearance of people due to organized crime is a very serious thing in Mexico. Not a week goes by without a clandestine grave with unidentified bodies being found. There are women, Las Madres Buscadoras, who have been searching for their relatives for years, and on top of that they are intimidated by the drug cartels (many of these mothers have been murdered). This movie is really offensive to those people.
This is how I describe Emilia Pérez's film: "it's a taco bell Dorito taco, prepared by a Frenchman who is going to be given a Michelin star for best Mexican dish"...
I’m Mexican and I’m glad people from USA or Europe find this horrible too. I just watched reviews and critics. There’s no way I’m spending either time or money on this. I still can’t believe how this comedy won over wicked…
