When I was in six grade I was in a contest selling small tiny screwdriver sets. Well the way it worked was if you sell enough sets you can win a prize. Well I sold enough sets to get All the prizes! The school tried to say it's only one prize per person...well that was never mentioned on the rules list. So they ended up having to give my all the prizes.

1992 Philippines. Pepsi had a promo where in they have a number under the bottle caps and those numbers can win you a particular cash prize. The "349" fiasco happened. Around 800k people won a million pesos ($40k) in prize each which is around $32 billion tital if paid. Pepsi claimed a glitch in the system. Riots followed as Pepsi refused to honor the winning number. You would think they learned their lesson 😂😂😂

During this time, my cousins and I were between 10 and 12 years old. Their dad owned a garage business. They spent the summer collecting caps and boxes while helping their dad on the garbage routes. They got enough points for the leather jackets. Pepsi denied their claims for the jackets also. So the iceberg goes deeper than just the jet.

Advertising does have consequences! In the early 70s I weked as a copywriter for an A.M. station in Montana. I never forgot the story about a car dealership in Oregon that advertised a brand new car for 2,300 'clams'! Yep, somebody dug up 2,300 CLAMS. THE DEAL "HAD TO BE HONORED"😅

Tangentially related is the story of a man who legally changed his name to “Coke Is It”., which was registered as a trademarked advertising slogan. The Coca-Cola company sued him for copyright infringement, and lost. One of the funniest results of this was the news coverage, in which the man was referred to as “It”.
