I m 77. I m a retired Trust Officer. I had a dear client, single, elderly, never been married. She didn't have the resources for a trust. I became close and felt fairly responsible. So there came a time when I told her attorney who never charged her that she needs a money manager who didn't charge her. So we worked together and after she was no longer a client, I became her POA. She was threatened with eviction and her attorney and I spent a long weekend cleaning up her hoarding...and then I spent Sundays for at least month trying to clean up her mess...SHE HATED ME, THE FEW ACQUAINTANCES AND SHIRTTAIL RELATIVES HATED ME. THEY THOUGHT I WAS STEALING FROM HER...FURTHEST FROM TRUTH! It is tough!!!! She died the next year and the hospital called me. I held her hand until she passed...no one else was there...
Ty Mrs Rowe for having coffee with Mike
Omg Mike, I love your visits with your mom! Keep it up. It brings us so much joy!
Any day we get coffee with Mrs. Peggy is a great day!✌️❤
Mike, your mom is a treasure!
I have a dear friend who is a hoarder. I have been trying for over 30 years to help her resolve it. Research indicates that it is often an offshoot of some great loss in life. It generally is somewhat gradual. If someone tries to clean it up for them, the loss of control is emotionally draining. She often finds thing to do outside of the home to simply avoid having to face it. She has a storage locker and has downsized that recently. She is currently trying to clear it up. She has spurts of success. I pray for her success.
Thanks for having your mom on, she's your best guest. 😊😊
Seeing you two interact resonates "All that I am, or ever hope to be, I owe to my mother".
This entire family are national treasurs. My favorite podcast
My mom almost choked the Kirby salesman. He put wet sand on our brand new carpet. His fancy machine didn't get it out. Mom kicked him out of the house.
