This is 100% standard operating practice for every large company I have ever coded for. A drastically under-tested personal tool pushed to prod and relied upon for a decade. I believe it.
I love Casey’s stories. He is so obsessively precise with the details.
I get more entertainment out of a month of this channel than the 5 years i was on Netflix.
I find it ironic that just five days ago the best steelman argument prime could come up with for encouraging vibe-coding with ai was internal tools where the bugs don't hurt anybody. And now we have the reminder of how often those already weak internal tools (even without LLMs) become the lichpin in production despite our best intentions.
