Fun fact: the scene where Charizard and Pikachu whimper when Magikarp evolves into Gyarados is because Gyarados has the ability "intimidate" which lowers its opponents attack Stat. It's a nice little Easter egg for pokemon players that are familiar with the competitive scene.
The reason the rock had such an effect on pikachu is because it was part of the ground type torterra, and pikachu is weak to ground.
The theater experience with this one was great. Probably just for the random person behind me during the underground fighting ring scene. Just suddenly you hear a very angry, seething "Who. Brought. TOGEPI?" and their friend says something I don't hear, just for a quick response of "That is a BABY, Charles!"
This movie is proof that an anime like Pokemon can be adapted well into live action.
How they haven't done more live action Pokemon movies is beyond me, this was great. Also I was thrown off by there not being a intro, editing issues or what?
Pokémon are human-level intelligent, Completely sentient. The Meowth from the anime taught itself how to speak to impress a female Meowth named “Meowzie”. She had told him that she “preferred humans”. So he watched schools thru windows and stole children’s books to learn to how read and speak. His first word was “Rocket”❤️🔥 He also learn how to walk on his hind legs thru observation. When he came back to Meowzie, she called him a freak… Heartbroken, he left. He eventually was picked up by Team Rocket, and then assigned to Jessie & James.
"I was thinking there was that one Pokémon that has the scallion, I think that Pokémon would make a good detective" I'm not too sure, sounds a bit.....Farfetch'd
I absolutely loved this movie. It was just so amazing to see all the Pokemon walking around living with their humans. And the pokemons were all so cute
I don't think the forgiveness came too fast at all, in fact they've been working on it the whole movie. The thing is, you framed it entirely on the dad's end, but the entire movie was showing us that Tim and Harry are a lot alike, which Tim completely reject at first, but as the movie progresses he starts seeing it himself and accepting himself, until it makes him realize that they were both not handling the loss too well, that for all his faults and shortcomings, the dad still tried to reach, and Tim both shut those attempts down and kept just assuming his dad didn't like him, because hating real people is much easier than confronting abstracts like "it just hurts that mom is gone", "life is unfair", "mom died and now dad wants me to live the place I grew up in and am overly emotionally dependant on", and so on. Yes, real people, plural, both his father for "not" loving him and himself for "being such a person his father would leave him" (yes it is contradictory, welcome to bad coping strategies 101: they're quick and ease because they dont have to make sense if you think about it, the goal is to not think too much in the first place). Harry probably could have tried harder (and he probably felt he deserved his kids feelings and treatment, because that is an easier way to handle rejection "he is better off without me, I just hurt people I love and push them aside anyway"), but a lot of the estrangement between Tim and Harry was on Tim, the movie showed us, showed us Tim picking up on that, and after one gets over that, the forgiving is easy. The making it work is hard still, but the forgiveness itself comes in easy after accepting you done ducked it up too.
