How Philo T. Farnsworth & T. Townsend Brown Changed the World Forever | #70 Paul Schatzkin
Uncovering the Suppressed Legacies of Farnsworth (TV/Fusion) and Brown (Anti-Gravity)
Discover the dual stories of the inventor who brought electronic television to Earth and the physicist who allegedly found a method to control gravity, both of whose crucial later work was severely suppressed.
Short Summary
- Confirm Farnsworth’s conceptualization of scanning an image line-by-line, leading directly to all modern video screens.
- Detail the vicious corporate battle RCA waged against Farnsworth’s patent rights, which he ultimately won through litigation.
- Introduce T. Townsend Brown's early experiments demonstrating anomalous thrust using high-voltage capacitors, potentially pioneering anti-gravity propulsion.
- Map the mysterious connections between Farnsworth's suppressed work on controlled fusion and Brown's classified propulsion research, linking both to the "missing fourth" forces/energies.
This episode examines how key scientific and engineering breakthroughs—television, controlled fusion, and potential anti-gravity—became entangled in secrecy, corporate espionage, and alleged government cover-ups starting in the 1920s. Discover why the true originators of world-changing technologies often fade into obscurity as powerful entities control the narrative and the patents.

I’d just like to thank you Matt, for making these full length episodes available for free without adverts. It really is appreciated and makes the listening/watching much more enjoyable. Kindest regards from the UK.
We tried something new with this Premiere - we’ve added the episode trailer so you can get a sneak peek before it goes LIVE! Let us know what you think!
I feel like an episode with Jesse Michels has got to happen now
Farnsworth and Brown? Futurama and Back To The Future… Hmmm if only there was a common theme 🧐
Farnsworth???....🤔 So THATS WHERE Matt Groening got the name of the Professor for Futurama! 😆 Brilliant! 👏👏👏
I invited Paul Schatzkin on to talk about Townsend Brown, but over dinner the night before recording he told me he couldn’t tell Brown’s story without also telling Farnsworth’s. Honestly, I didn’t expect the Farnsworth section to be as interesting as it was, but it surprised me. what did you think about how Paul tied Farnsworth and Brown together? Grateful you’re here and part of this conversation 🙏 thanks to Jesse Michels for making me aware of T Townsend Brown.
Heck yea!!!!!!!!!! I cannot wait for this one. 15/10 Guest. Read his book on Brown, love it.
Another amazing guest and conversation! It definitely has my mind going! The quote by Farnsworth about God and him being a medium through which the information came, is similar to statements made by other scientists and physicists. The quote also makes me think of Diana Pasulka and her statements about her friend from NASA that had a whole routine which includes meditation, and how many in that field have similar techniques. Which brings me to a guest you had on, Rizwan Virk, who described a simulation of information. I wish those in power all over the world were more interested in scientific breakthroughs to uplift humanity, instead of using them to destroy it. Can you imagine all of the amazing things we could do if we didn't choose to spend a trillion dollars on war every year?
Not the Droid we are looking for... this guy gets it😂🎉
Yes thank you for going AD-LESS ❤ from Norway
