I so desperately wish that if someone knowingly created a hoax, they'd be found guilty of committing the crime they alleged as well as being charged with lying to police and defamation.
Only in America do you claim there are racist everywhere, and then fake a hate crime!
When you can't find actual racism, invent some so you can play the victim.
The hoaxes ARE racist hate crimes.

Matt Christiansen used to have a bit on his weekly Sunday show highlighting hate crime hoaxes. He managed to find material *every single week*, at least one story, sometimes two or three. Its ridiculous it's that prevalent
The only thing surprising here is that I had absolutely no idea that ANYONE had ever been seriously punished for a fake hate crime. I never expected that.
Claiming someone did something to you that not only wasn't them, but never happened should carry a MINIMUM of 5 years prison, in addition to triple whatever fine / jail time the person would receive if they had actually done the thing. A false accusation is a targeted attack and should be treated as such.
I’m noticing a pattern in these hoaxers… false accusers of these hate crime hoaxes should get 3x the punishment of the crime they’re lying about
