Denzel should've won an Oscar.

Fun Fact: The first boy that get's up and shout I am Malcolm X, is Denzel's son John David Washington who is also an actor in his own right.

People always say Do the Right Thing is Spike Lee's best film. But I personally think this is his best film because he pours his heart and soul into every frame.

Hey, all, we did our best to give you the best possible edit for this reaction. The team put in a lot of effort collectively. Unfortunately, it had to go through several rounds of re-edits in order to be able to make it public. It was getting blocked and copyright claimed like crazy. I know it’s not ideal for a lot of you but the very best way to watch the reaction is on Patreon where there are zero compromises. My apologies again this couldn’t be what was initially intended. We did our best. ❤

The way Malcolm X completely kept evolving and improving himself for the better was both beautiful and sad because he never reached his full potential 😭

If Denzel was going to win an award for anything, it should have been this movie.

The 80's and 90's were the golden age of Black film. Denzel & Angela were owed so many Oscars for their performances over the years. If you pay attention to the Civil Rights Movement in the 60's, you will notice that every time leaders reach across the aisle to unite the races, they are unalived by the government. We need to remember the lessons of the Civil Rights movement and how it influences what we do today. We can be better if we try.

After the pilgrimage, Malcolm was seen as more dangerous to the “establishment” as he became a unifier and “they” did not want that.

As a child who attended PWIs, I hated Black history month because all we learned about was slavery and MLK. I moved to a new state, new school & had a biology teacher who prepared us for life. One day he asked us "Do you know who Malcolm X was?" We answered "A civil rights leader." He told us to spend our weekend writing a one page paper about Malcolm X. I read his Autobiography and wrote the paper Sunday Night. It was the beginning of a true education and understanding of my people and myself.
