Google providing “free” tools is like the van at the playground offering “free” candy. Don’t get me wrong, I love candy. But understand that they decided scraping and aggregating your data, using you to train the model, feeding you advertisements, or getting you dependent on a toolset and then charging for it later is ultimately more profitable for them than charging for it now would be.
If something is free...you are the product
I used it this week to write a product description with 4 different buyers in mind, and fed it the details of the product, and it wrote something better in 30 seconds that I or my marketing team have in the past 18 years.
I’ve had the Gemini app on my phone watch WWE matches with me by pointing my camera to the tv. It would do commentary about the match and react. It’s pretty cool!
Gemini is my go-to AI for a while now.
Aw man. That create a podcast feature.... What a rabbit hole you just threw me in!
I switched over to Gemini 1 day ago.
I love it. I use it to write short stories. Usually they’re crossover stories like what if the Joker some how went back in time and ended up in the little house on the prairie universe. It’s lots of fun and I enjoy reading them out loud for my family
If a service is free. YOU are the product.
Google- “Let’s use open source for our models, also don’t forget to charge the subscription fee, we have pets to feed over here.”
