This entry is criminally underrated!!!
Such an underrated movie. The emotional shock moments make the story more realistic.
This movie criminally underrated. It literally does the lifting pf building out the entire world of espionage within the Bourne Universe in a sjngle well done action movie. Plus the two leads are brilliant throughout. Their feelings for one another atbthe end feel earned. When she screams to warn him it hits perfectly, and you just know they're now a pair that will risk everything for one another.
The villian role in this is so much better than the other Bourne movies. Norton as a sort of ruthless bureacratic fixer that knows how everything works better than the bosses do is way better than one old boss trying to cover a specific op or program, and badly at that.
Jason Bourne's story was built around Webb regaining his memory and discovering who he was outside of the program. Aaron Cross is different in the sense that he's trying to preserve his existence as a result of being a part of the program. This film definitely had the least hand-to-hand combat, but I still love it due to the strength of the story. It pulls the lens back to make it clear to the audience that the story of Bourne is one of many, with different operatives facing their own struggles.
Rachel Weisz in an interview said Jeremy Renner told her that the scariest moment filming this movie was during the motorcycle chase scene because quote “I was responsible for your life”, which when she said that ALL the women in the audience of the show she told that on all swooned and awed at that. Jeremy also said that the traffic in that scene was actually that insane even when they weren’t filming, saying about the drivers there “the traffic lights are just a suggestion and the lines on the road are just for decoration”.🤣🤣
I recommend Jeremy Renner again in Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters 🧙♂️.
I never understood why this one has bad ratings (compared to other Bournes). Stellar cast, dream couple, smart story matching the prequels, and as far as it concerns me, solid photography. I've been so annoyed about camera in II and III.
This sadly didn't have box office success. I liked it plenty, it's underrated. But sadly Aaron Cross has been retired by the studio.
If Aaron and Jason fights, we may need 3 hrs more for this movie
