Tim Pool Exposes Liquid Death Over $1 Million Bet and Misleading 'Death to Plastic' Marketing

Discover the evidence Tim Pool presented showing Liquid Death's CEO lost a $1 million bet regarding pledged profit donations and how the company misleads consumers about plastic usage despite its "Death to Plastic" slogan.

Short Summary

  • Tim Pool confirmed winning a $1 million bet when the Liquid Death CEO failed to disprove an archived 2021 website statement claiming 10% of profits were donated to fight pollution.
  • The debate uncovered that Liquid Death cans contain plastic liners (0.5 to 1 gram), contradicting their primary marketing stance, "Death to Plastic."
  • Pool detailed the CEO's alleged FTC violation admission regarding the "Red Bull gives you wings" slogan comparison and acknowledged the company misled customers about being plastic-free.
  • This segment analyzes the financial discrepancies in their sponsorships, specifically the firing of long-time skateboard ambassadors like Richie Jackson, contrasting it with the company's high valuation ($1.4 Billion).

This discussion breaks down the apparent hypocrisy in Liquid Death’s anti-plastic stance versus their actual product construction and analyzes corporate decisions regarding marketing claims versus financial realities.

"I'll bet you a million dollars" - said by millions of people daily who are broke and know it means nothing. When said between 2 millionaires...takes on a life of its own

$30 for a gallon of water. You have to be out of your mind. If everyone’s so worried about plastic, buy yourself a water filter and a stainless steel bottle. You people are nuts. 😂

Old glass soda bottles had a cork liner in the caps. No plastic at all. I remember from the '70s

Sounds the typical eco activism schill that liquid death actually displaces more plastic than it does, just to sell more water

ALL Aluminum drink cans have a plastic liner. I was so bummed when I found out.

they used to coat the inside of cans with a food-safe resin but eventually changed to plastic because it was much more reliable for coating the inside of cans. and plastic was easier to remove and deal with when they recycled the cans.
