It will change when black rock faces a French Revolution style campaign
i am currently in a bit of a situation , with rates not as subsidized and my mortgage still as high , i am currently seeking alternatives to maximize savings without an RV move or taking a loan. I’m seriously contemplating the latter.
I own a house and besides the equity, it sucks... upkeep sucks!! two years ago, I rented out my house and now enjoy a luxury lifestyle in a nice apartment. My quality of life has greatly improved. No yardwork, no repairs.
I don't want a newly built house I just want a 2 bedroom small house, some land and a pole barn
Renting is great for single people like myself who can handle living in a small one bedroom or studio apartment in a cheap building and live below my means and save money and invest. One day, I plan to use cash to buy land with or without a home already on it. The problem is, a lot of people can’t handle living in a cheap apartment they can afford and wind up signing leases for places that are half their monthly income or even worse.
You are spot on. We just went through the pre approval process for the house we are in. We rent for $1760 a month vs a $2980 house payment. This does not include the insurance, property tax, repairs....
I think people who spend money on rent should get tax write off for certain tax bracket .
Buying a house is only good for the banks. Don't buy a house untill you have passive/ investment income to pay all the costs including mortgage, maintenance, repairs, property tax, insurance etc.

If you do own a home, don't ever sell it. Replacing it no longer makes financial sense so hang on to it for life if you can and pay it off.
