The crashing made him feel the infinite rage of Doom Slayer and he realized how immersive it makes the experience, therefore its good now.

I'm glad Charlie didn't have colorblind settings on, I know damn well he would rather adapt his vision than change anything since it was working
Honestly I enjoy this and appreciate that id took a different direction for the dark ages. As much as I agree that eternal is the best, doing the exact same thing or something similar gameplay wise would be pretty boring.
