A MASSIVE DEEP SPACE OBJECT Hiding Beneath the Solar System is Fast Approaching ☄️ 3I/ATLAS Update
Comparing Massive Deep Space Object C/2014 UN271 (BB Comet) to 3I/ATLAS
Discover why the gigantic comet C/2014 UN271 (Bernardinelli-Bernstein) is behaving anomalously far from the Sun, and how its orbital events synchronize unexpectedly with observations of the interstellar visitor 3I/ATLAS.
Short Summary
- BB Comet is the largest comet observed: Measuring nearly 150 km across, it dwarfs 3I/ATLAS and demands new understanding of solar system dynamics.
- Anomalous Activity: This object exhibits outbursts of gas and dust hundreds of AU from the Sun, suggesting a unique, primordial composition.
- Orbital Chaos: Its orbit is so vast (up to 60,000 AU) that its trajectory is subject to the gravitational tide of the galaxy, making predictions inherently non-linear.
- Key Dates: Its closest approach to the Sun (perihelion) occurs in January 2031, followed by an ecliptic plane crossing in August 2033.
Geophysicist Stefan Burns examines two record-breaking visitors to our inner solar system: the interstellar Oort cloud object 3I/ATLAS and the colossal comet C/2014 UN271 (BB Comet). The discussion reveals BB Comet's unprecedented size and early sublimation, forcing experts to question established cometary models. Furthermore, Burns highlights striking temporal alignments between 3I/ATLAS’s key orbital moments and Mercury-Uranus planetary oppositions, suggesting deeper systemic linkages occur during these celestial events.

I hope some one lends a cheap telescope to the NASA so they can get something
I love how the amateur astronomers provide better photos than NASA😂
3I/Atlas calling in backup.🤣
I can't wait to see what ridiculous blur NASA pulls out of their black hole for this one.
Observed to be ~150 km in diameter, the estimated mass of C/2014 UN271 is 100,000 times greater than that of normal comets!! You combine the incredible size of this object/comet with its high-gravity and strange outburst activity even at extreme distances from the Sun (>20 AU), and we really don't know what's going to happen. Thankfully it's perihelion is calculated to be 10.95 AU, so just outside Saturn's orbit, but personally I think it behooves all of us to watch this thing very very closely, and we should study it as best as possible! I hope one or more of the space agencies steps up and sends a probe to it so we can study it up close and in detail. I'll keep you all updated on it, the biggest thing right now is the unusual planetary geometry it's making with the Solar System being directly below the Sun perpendicular to the ecliptic plane.
Stefan, I am 62 and you are the first person to peak my interest in all things cosmological. I've been watching you for several months now - I don't pretend to understand it all but I'm hooked. Thank you for all you do. 👏
@StephanBurns you are greatly appreciated and loved by all of us! I enjoy watching your videos! You are so informative and it's so easy to understand what you are saying. You're the best!
Funny how they take such beautiful pics with the James Web telescope...but cant get hardly any kind of pictures of 3I/ Atlus
I like how you cut to the chase and give information direct thanks
