Russia, economic stability in time of conflict w/ Rhod Mackenzie
On-the-Ground Assessment of Russia's Economic Stability Amid Conflict
Gain clarity on Russia's current economic performance by analyzing real-time data on employment, inflation, and industrial progress from an observer based in the industrial heartland. This analysis directly counters prevailing Western narratives of imminent collapse.
Short Summary
- Achieve historically low unemployment levels not seen since Soviet times, currently resting at 2.6%.
- Real incomes rose significantly (16%) over the last year, outpacing inflation (8.6%).
- Government debt remains exceptionally low at only 17% of GDP.
This discussion features Rhod McKenzie, speaking from the Urals region, offering a ground-level view of the Russian economy. McKenzie details why common reports of fuel shortages and industry collapse fail to materialize in reality, instead pointing to successful import substitution, rising living standards, and high political confidence as key features of the current landscape.

As a Russian, I'm not going to speak for all of us, but I can say that everyone I interact with supports Putin, and they understand the global evil he's fighting. Many of my friends, like me, didn't always understand Putin and didn't vote for him before, but in the recent presidential election, we all voted for Putin, which is why he has such a high approval rating.
I lived in Moscow before and during the collapse of communism in 1991 and can confirm what Rhod is saying. It was very tough times for many Russians, but they survived. Shops would close at lunch time to put up prices for the afternoon. My wife is in Moscow now(waiting for me to join her) and there is no shortage of anything. Prices of essential things like heating, electric, gas and water are so low as to be insignificant compared to the West. Food also is plentiful and not expensive. Russians in general have a far higher disposable income than the average person in the West.
3 years of US led sanctions on Russia, only for it to backfire on the US and collective West while Russia's economy grew.
Stability comes with the resources, which Russia has in abundance.
Greetings from Russia! Thanks for the video guys.

In the West, the governments lie, the media lies and Israel lies. This will never change.
Finally the great Mc Kenzie on the programme. He really is the best of the best. NO BS, no crap, no waffling, just good honest journalism.
Alexander, Alex, thank you for inviting Mr Mackenzie to your programe. The value of his insight into the current economic situation in Russia, counters false and highly propagandiced statements by western mainstream news media.
Thank you Rhod. My wife is a Russian gal, and our family in Russia has seen none of the problems that the propagandists want to project. In addition, when we travel there, everything is normal.
