Once again, I agree with Ben Shapiro. Iran has failed to adhere to any treaties or agreements for the past 40+ years. So I don’t know why we are wasting time with “negotiations.“ What is the point of negotiating with a country that cannot be trusted to adhere to what was negotiated? Unfortunately, until there is a regime change in Iran, the world lacks security. I suspect that President Trump and Vice President Vance, knew this well before the Memorandum of Understanding. They probably want to be able to say that the U.S. gave them every imaginable opportunity to avoid military action.

Every word. That is why they lie all the time, even to their own people in their places of worship. They knew they are losing but they will never admit defeat. It's not allowed.

A third possible reason that the MOU was signed is that the administration understands that most Americans believe that everyone else is just as WEIRD as we are, and so in order to finish off the Iranian regime, Trump needed to show that Iran rejected peace, thus giving Trump political capital sufficient to finish the job

Why do we have to keep reinventing the wheel? Go in and blast away, otherwise don't go in.

Ben is absolutely right...the IRGC have a completely different world view and in diplomacy, use the same words the west does but assigns different meeting to them. Reminds me of Japan in WW2. By all metrics before the two a bombs were dropped, they were defeated. They could not hope to defeat their enemies...from their perspective, surrender was highly dishonorable so it would have cost potentially millions of Japanese lives a tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of allied lived to invade Japan itself. Japan's culture and world view was very different than the West and Truman recognized that. With the IRGC, the two ways to truly defeat them is for a popular uprising within Iran, or for them to literally not be able to defend themselves, including the SoH. Without boots on the ground or a popular uprising, not sure the US can dethrone the IRGC or even expect they act as a good global neighbor. I think Trump saw the protests over the winter, and thought if we take out the entire top leadership, the iranian people will rise up and overthrow the IRGC...sadly that didn't happen. I don't see Trump sending large scale ground forces in so the bombs will continue to fall until Iran is a complete wasteland or the people rise up.

He really needs to get this over soon. We are very capable of finishing the job quickly.
