Happy to see the Forester finally get the Hybrid treatment
I bought a Honda hybrid sport touring. I bought it because this was the only way I could get a Bose sound system---and the difference is profound! ! Things I miss on the CR-V: wrap around rear view mirror, ventilated seats, body trims, included rear compartment blind. I also found the Honda seats much more comfortable. Enjoyed your eval.
The Forester Hybrid is the best version of that SUV we've ever tested, but the established CR-V Hybrid has its rabid fans too. If you still prefer the Forester, let us know why in the comments below! And yes, "because I love my Subaru" is a valid answer.
Both are great vehicles in this SUV segment. I did a test drive in both of them and they feel nice tondrive, and comfortable. I decided to get my 2025 Honda CR-V Sport L Hybrid AWD and I don't regret my decision. After 1 year driving it, I have done some road trips to Chicago, Green Bay, Detroit, Montréal, and Wilmington. It runs smooth, has decent power, great gas mileage, comfy, great in snowy winters, and good space.
For those that must park in the city, Subaru can be had with 360 camera. And ventilated seats for hot climates. Not necessarily deal breaking features, but once you’ve had a car with them it’s hard to give them up.
The top level of the Forester Hybrid (the touring) is so much nicer than the CR-V touring. You feel like you are driving a luxury car!
Love my limited forester hybrid! The hybrid system and transmission are exceptionally refined, smooth and seamless and the ride is extremely quiet, comfortable and capable. Also, visibility is unparalleled and the interior is very spacious and never feels cramped. I have no issues with the infotainment. Once I set the climate to auto I can make adjustments with physical buttons and, I know this doesn't matter to many people, but I can STILL use my iPod classic with the Aux jack that Honda doesn't have. Also, Subaru does a phenomenal job with their auto dimming mirrors (plural). For someone sensitive to glare their dimming exterior mirrors are perfect! And, the Forester also has steering responsive headlights that, to me, work better than the ones in a Mazda CX 30 I drove for a while. Many Subarus, including mine, also include a pin-code access that allows you to secure your key inside the car if undertaking some activity that might increase risk of losing it. And let's not forget about a superior AWD system. And, I like the HK system in this particular model better than other bose systems I've had. It's all subjective, but I love highs and HK has clearer, crisper highs.I like Honda and loved my accord. They're excellent cars. But there is just something special about my forester!
Great video, as always. :)
Very helpful review. For my interests/questions, I feel you’ve done a great job of presenting their comparative merits. Well done!
I’m SO GLAD I found this well-made video. Great info, thx!
