Florida Mom Dumped 5-Year-Old Son in Park

Police in Miami Beach responded to a park after a concerned witness found a 5-year-old boy alone on a playground, crying and saying his mother sometimes left him there as punishment. Officers located the boy’s mother, 20-year-old Alize Rodriguez, who appeared incoherent and gave conflicting explanations about leaving him while she went to the restroom. After police discovered a discarded bag containing suspected drugs and cannabis, Rodriguez was arrested for child neglect and drug possession and later pleaded guilty.
