Support our work: https://democracynow.org/donate/sm-desc-yt "This is all being read inside of Iran as a war on the Iranian people." As oil prices threaten to spike to $200 a barrel amid Iran's pressure campaign against the U.S. and its allies, professor Narges Bajoghli returns to _Democracy Now!_ with an update on the war on Iran and its place in the modern history of U.S.-Iran relations. Bajoghli explains how the combination of harsh sanctions and an insidious propaganda campaign has created a deep political divide within Iran and its diaspora, as Iranians are stuck between theocratic governance and the prospective return of the U.S.-backed monarchy. It's ALL not ok, and I am ashamed at the U.S.'s hands in all this. Those children and the teachers didn't deserve to die. Nor did the military service members.

When we target civilians, that allows everyone else to justify targetting our civilians. We need to reconsider who we want representing us, who we want leading us, who we want to be, and how we want to be rememberred.

Be mindful! It is Persian gulf and not the gulf. There are Arabian sea, Oman gulf/sea and Persian gulf. Who does not use "Persian gulf" needs to correct her/himself.

"Palantir" is an evil object in "The Lord of the Rings". So, not only is the name the choice of an adolescent too into "The Hobbit"... it is a tool of evil, not good.
