80 yr old here; they racist GOP came into being when the DIxiecrats became the heart and soul of the GOP. Nixon was a racist and an anti-semite; Reagan dog whistled it; both Bush potuses may not have been "bigots" on a personal level; but they both continued the same racist system that existed when I was a kid in the 1950s. It was the GOP that began the game of using "Christianity" and alignment with segregationist evangelical Falwell; and the "not everyone should vote" Heritage Foundation. Nixon's court, from Powell to Reagan's court with Rehnquist and Scalia were racists hiding behind dark $$$. and platitudes about originalism. Tim can blame the dems until h*ll freezes over but until any and all of you admit dark money enabled voter suppression which is "whether you want to admit it or not" is STEALING ELECTIONS. Whether it is was the Jim Crow or poll taxes in the first part of the 20th century; or the violence that erupted when young people were helping to register black voters, the GOP for my entire life has been willing to break the rules. Still are......dems otoh maybe "take the high road" too many times. Sometimes it frustrates us.......where it never bothered GOP operatives. If Platner had been a GOP guy, he'd still be on the ticket. But instead of blaming the corporate dems who are doing way too little already you guys are blaming the "far" left, aka FDR dems, aka Democratic Socialists. You republicans still cannot wrap your head around. the fact the democratic socialism is why we had good public schools affordable college, community health care before effing Reagan. Yea, he didn't hate immigrants they way he hated LBGTQ people but his cabal of deregulators, Ayn Rand loving economist are why we have dark money from wealth hoarding robber barons buying elections.

Just love Mr. Stevens. He doesn’t bite his tongue when it comes to MAGA bullshit and I am here for it.
