This movie was really just a love letter to FNAF fans, and as someone who's been waiting over 8 years for this film I felt completely and utterly fulfilled.
This movie was made specifically for fans so I can see why critics might’ve hated the movie but personally I really enjoyed it
People need to remember that the animatronics are not wild blood-thirsty monsters. They’re still just children. The fort scene and the tickling scene make sense when you remember this important detail. William is just controlling them and using them to hurt people.
for the scene of them building the fort, i think a lot of people tend to forget that the heart of fnaf is really about those kids that afton killed. they were young and taken at a point in their lives where they would be doing things like this (which is why the animatronics never really go after kids). its a sweet scene that still shows a bit of the children’s humanity when not under the imminent influence of afton (this is just my interpretation)
I was genuinely surprised by the kid playing Golden Freddy, his performance was actually a bit chilling. The child actors in this movie did great.
I love when Matthew Lillard does the Ghostface knife swipe. Not only is it obvious it’s him because of that, but hearing his voice all these years since 2010 as Shaggy in all the Scooby-Doo animated movies and shows, it’s instantly recognizable.
As a kinda-ish FNAF fan, to me this movie is a okay movie. Way better than what critics have been on about. And I totally agree that some things could have been improved, like the plot setup~ but also totally a movie for the fans! I would even say its a good first time horror movie for a younger audience, that is not too scary, too violent or too bloody
Markiplier clarified that he was suppose to have a cameo in the movie as well but the timing didn't work out. So I wonder which role we saw was suppose to be his? UPDATE: it was the security guard in the beginning of the movie, which would've been amazing 😂

Also with the lore of the game, I believe the spirit that is inside of Chica was tricked by Afton because he said he had her dog in the backroom, to which when she went back there he kills her (and the dog is killed), but I find it really fascinating that Chica uses the cupcake like she's siccing a dog on somebody. All of them kill except for Chica, when she goes to kill someone she uses the cupcake to do it
