It speaks volumes of the Democrats in that for the Mayor of NYC to achieve anything he must disavow and distant himself from any other progressives to work with corporate Democrats. It really is an evil yet genius tactic for corporate dems to have their cake and eat it also. If successful, they will take credit, and if unsuccessful, they will say it was because he was too leftist. I hope that the mayor is working the scenes like h3ll behind the scenes like a swan's legs under water to assist other progressive candidates.

Yes. Stop threatening to leave and just leave. They're so self-absorbed that they think we care.

She’s right! When people say “if you tax the rich they’ll leave and the middle class will suffer,” they’re admitting the real problem. If society collapses because a small group threatens to exit, power is already too concentrated. Wealth does not create itself. Value is generated by workers using shared infrastructure, education, and stability. Most people cannot just pick up and leave. They are tied to jobs, families, and communities. That’s who actually sustains the economy. The real issue isn’t protecting the rich from taxes. It’s upward social mobility. A healthy system lets people move up through work and opportunity. When policy is built around appeasing capital instead of empowering participation, the system becomes extractive. If the threat of wealthy exit outweighs the needs of the people who generate value, that’s not an argument against reform. It’s proof reform is overdue. The constitution was made just because of this monopoly like the east India company. The Constitution never said we have to take care of the wealthy. It said to “Promote General Welfare” meaning not to take care of anybody literally, but for structural fairness.

Literally no city should want a billionaire in their city. They buy everything and give nothing to the community. Fuck all that

My thing is just leave. You don’t have announce your departure or tell others to leave.
