My neighbor moved from CA to Virginia and she talks about ad nauseum about how great things were in the 'the canyon' she means laurel canyon. Beware of these hippies who find it simply unaffordable to live in the places they love but will move to your state and vote for the same things that made them move.
I am not leaving my state, California. Born and raised here. We are turning this state republican. God be with us.
After 45 years in SoCal we sold everything and moved to South Carolina coastal. Fantastic beaches, fantastic people, prices 30-40% less. Energy cheap regulations reasonable. Love this place!
I was grabbing a coffee at a hotel in Ogden, UT before leaving and struck up a conversation with a Californian. She was inquisitive about my life in east TN and when I told her I live on a lake (3BR/2BA) and only pay $1,500/yr in property taxes, she went into shock. This after my taxes went DOWN 25%. She wants out of CA so bad! I didn’t even tell her I don’t pay income tax 😊
I’m generally the type in chats but as soon as I spot a preventable error I can’t help dropping a note: take a look, at that mistake
Lived in NY, Northern Virginia and now Florida. I may not stay here forever but until my kids are grown I'll be here. The problem is, many people moved down her to escape liberal policy (especially around COVID) and want to bring their politics here. If you hate Republican policy stay in a blue state. Live with what you voted for.
They lost me in another way...I used to visit Cali 2-3 times a year. I haven't been there in 5 years.
Carolla belongs on this pod!
The sad thing is that everyone can't leave California whether they want to or not. This could be because of family ,age, finances or health , etc. For those of you that have left, good for you. Congratulations you made it out.!!
Left the L.A. south bay in 2021 for rural central Florida. Best thing that I ever did🤙🏽
