I am a financial crimes specialist for one of the world’s largest financial institutions. I took this job instead of a government job because I naively thought I could make a shit load of money and also do something that makes a difference. Financial crimes are disproportionately conducted by the wealthy and they are rarely held accountable so I thought this would be a good opportunity to do something good. However I’ve become so jaded since I’ve been here because the dickheads in charge will do everything in their power to protect wealthy clients and in the US things like insider trading and money laundering are so easy to get away with ONLY if you have the capital and corporate infrastructure. Because of this all my work feels like it’s for absolutely nothing. The system is so rigged and I feel I’m utilizing my skills for the fucking devil. But your channel has inspired me to start looking for something more meaningful and to get more involved politically. Maybe there’s some intersection there we’ll see but thank you Gary
