A song that ego would tell his son Peter later on in the movie was a song about their relationship. The car that they're writing in is colored orange and blue much like star-lords ship the Milano... Like father like son there. Then after the two driving to the parking lot of a Dairy Queen, they head to the woods behind that restaurant in order to find one of egos many extensions of himself that he has planted across the cosmos... With those extensions all looking like blue and red alien flowers of sorts. This detail about ego is super important because it shows just how much this Marvel Cinematic Universe version of ego the living planet is modeled after one of Marvel's elders of the universe... Specifically the Elder of the universe known as The Gardener. As most of you probably already know, the Elders of the universe in Marvel Comics are a group of beings who have been around since the early days of the cosmos itself... Spending countless millennia of their existence dedicated to their specific Passions. The first Elder of the universe that we meet in the MCU was of course the Collector, who first appeared in the post credit scene of for the Dark World and was the intended buyer of the orb in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie... As played by the super talented Benicio del Toro. And, of course, his passion was collecting all sorts of things and people.
