Thank you, thank you, thank you. This exchange may be the very first among many (here and on associated channels) that I would wish to share with others - should they have ears to hear. On so many levels, NOT first of which is the argument for analytic idealism. This was more important than that. The level of respect and genuine desire for clarity and convergence was so lovely to witness. At first I thought, how brave of Anil to submit to being out numbered by Bernardo and Kris, but then I realized he knew he was among those he could trust, who are more interested in having the debate than in winning it and how that affords all of us the opportunity to think for ourselves. I respect and love you all. Thank you.

Christof's perspective here is so incredibly important. I could cry tears of happiness seeing such a solid and well-grounded scientist having their mind tuned-in to the fundamentality of consciousness, and then also having the bravery to express this realization publicly. What a beautiful thing we're witnessing here.

Anil's approach makes a lot of sense, insofar as it can.

I enjoyed watching this, thanks for organizing the event and sharing the video! More than once during the discussion I felt that the urge of ‚being right‘ did get in the way of opening up to an even deeper understanding though

While having an idealist starting point might limit the questions we ask, and then the inventions we could have made, this would be due to our own cognitive limitations not metaphysical limitations. If we entertain physicalism we WOULD be metaphysically limited in what questions we would ask. The point is that physicalism is inherently limiting because it is a sub-phenomenon within idealism (from an idealist point of view). The physical world is not excluded, its just present within mind, with all measurements and equations still being valid! This would not lead to distractions away from discovering new fancy tech, or intriguing correlations within the physical world, since its a fully integral "level of description" within idealism. Idealism does not exclude the phenomena and correlations of the physical world. Physicalism does, however, exclude the mental level of description in ways that limits the type of questions we form, what experiments we make, as it excludes anything mental as a potential explanation behind certain correlations or phenomena. Physicalism tries to force a physical explanation, while idealism fully allows a physical level of description of phenomena.

Thank you for the content, big fan of Essential Foundation. Just a note for the set up… never put a guest in a large screen behind the other guests. This is what I call the big brother effect (in reference to the 1984 Apple tv commercial)… 😅 A simple solution is to put him in a big vertical tv screen on the stage next to the other guests. Simple, effective and more human scale.
