Her standing up for those kids to the point of being blacklisted, these days celebrities could NEVERRRRRRRR
Before recognizing her as yzma, I recognized her as Madame Zeroni from Holes 🤌 Ertha Kitt is so iconic in so many ways. Thanks for this episode!
My cat is named after her. Eartha Kitty! Noooooobody ever gets it. That makes me sad. Thank you for bringing light to her name. 1:33
My grandfather was a sailor who ended up in NYC, and for some reasons Eartha was at the docks. She said hello to everyone but ended up giving my handsome tall Swedish man of a grandfather a kiss. At his funeral my mum played a few Eartha songs and I was instantly obsessed. Years later I moved to London and ended up playing Eartha for my new friends. Every week we drank cheap white wine sitting in our window with our feet dangling out, blasting Eartha singing along to “old fashioned girl”. She will always live on with me.
Thank you for making this episode! Eartha is such an icon with Civil Rights, Theatre, Music, and Women's Rights. She should be talked about way more than she is
Eartha was a queen. Black, Native American, white, Hispanic, Asian - she was a mom on behalf of single and disenfranchised moms. She spoke up for poor and marginalized kids and their families. It was the truth. Poor kids were ignored, until it came to sending them to Vietnam. Then they were the first to be drafted, as if poor kids were more expendable. Everyone knows it.
To acknowledge us on your HUGE PLATFORM during black history month with everything that's going on WE DEFINITELY APPRECIATE YOU! Thank you so MUCH!
She is Madam Zeronni, a sorceress so powerful she was capable of turning a henchmen into a judge in just a few movies.
I have massive respect for her. She went through so much but refused to let life destroy her. I remember seeing her on Space Ghost and immediately being fascinated with how she talked. ❤❤
Eartha is the epitome of fierce. I simply adore her!
