These strategic cutouts - in the back of the Edge for heel strikers and in the front of the Sky for forefoot strikers - are designed to give the midsole room to expand with each impact
at last. a review that helps to understand these 2 race shoes a lot better than any reviewer. thank you for this!
After 2 years, finally the first one to be able to explain the difference between the two in a proper way - thanks!!
Thank you for this detailed usefull comparaison. About the stride vs cadence thing, I wonder if going the opposite of Asics' intention would work better. If going quicker you naturally increase your cadence, then you probably need less a shoe/tool that help you do something that you naturally do (,cadence) but more a shoe/tool that help you increase your stride (which you don't naturally do). My 2 cents,
Convinced before the review I’d need the Sky. Now I’m convinced I need both 😂
I see a lot of reviews that say that Sky is more comfortable for marathon runners and Edge is more for 5km - 21km runners. But me as a full marathon runner i still prefer Edge because it feels more bouncy. 😂
I am a cadence runner and the shy Tokyo works better for me on marathons then the edge Tokyo . The plate position and harder foam in the edge are harder on the legs and when that happens your form will fall apart the sky is more forgiving which helps me keep my foam. Hope that helps you all out there
Great video. Thanks for producing it!
Heel/mid striker, 180 cadence runner, stride length increases when I increase pace and cadence stays the same, opting for the Edge anyway for that added stability from 30k onwards, think this will be the shoe to take me through my first London marathon in 2 months time
Someone else already said this… finally a review that makes sense out of these two shoes. Thank you!
