I am still blown away by the black lady who won a 1.8 million dollar private island, and then had the audacity to claim she was being oppressed by racism when she got eliminated. I’d like a dose of that oppression please.
I happened to walk in on my kids watching the Beast games. It was the scene where the team leader was offered $1M in exchange for their entire team getting eliminated. I was shocked that no one took the money. I would’ve taken it in a heartbeat.
But hey, that's just a theory, a GAME THEORY
Anyone who claims that Mr. Beast would make a critique of capitalism has no idea who Mr. Beast is. He has said countless times on podcasts that his whole business is an escalating cycle: spend all his capital on making a video, generate more revenue than he had originally, spend all of that capital on a bigger video, generate even more revenue, spend it again on huge thing, etc... He is about as close to the ultimate capitalist you could get. It is because he gets to keep his capital that he can reinvest it into making more.
So true, Deano was the captain that didn’t take the money but was villainized later in the game
When ben said that if you were a team captain and didn't take the 1 mil, you are a moron, I died. I was saying that the entire time the money was going up
I'd say a 1/6 chance at $5M is more valuable to most people than a 1/12 chance at $10M for most people. For a middle class person, that first $5M is a huge bump up. The second $5M is just gravy.
Keep in mind everyone in the show was given $2000 just to compete, so they don’t sacrifice without leaving with anything
9:30 the reverse of this argument is exactly why Twanta is in the finale tho, she made enough connections, and are fair enough to even make Gage support her that he doesn't feel bad taking a fall for her. Being fair does make you popular with the contestant, and made you have that final seat of 50/50 chance of winning the game. That's still a fact. It's just that Twanta herself has never made herself out to be that fierce of a competitor other than her social skills, Jeff and his friends are way better at games. She got propped up to the final by everyone else. She is emotional, you can see it each time she cried when one of her friends lost. That's why Jeff won, he literally read her like a book.
A 26 year old producing a show like this - brilliant.
