How is it always a moral hazzard for the poor, but never for the wealthy.
With the logic of private company suing over the student loan forgiveness, can average citizen sue for the extravagant amount of defense contracts that use our tax dollars, can we sue to get that back since that would cause irreparable harm to his/her financial income. The media seemed to never talk about that though.
Colleges need to be charged heavily and foot the bill for overcharging students not taxpayers but that makes too much sense.
Companies who avoid paying taxes have received multiple bailouts without a reversal or a backtrack being seriously discussed. Give money to a large majority of tax paying individuals and everyone freaksout. 🙄
I love how we just focus on the student loan debt relief, why don't everybody focus on the defense contract that is like a 100 times bigger than the student loan debt relief, and other wasteful government spending but no focus on the student loan debt relief. Low hanging fruit! And the media keep playing us for dummies, and we're feeding right today hands.
The student loan forgiveness only applies to loans held by the Department of Education. No private lender will have standing.
I wish the money to pay for student loan forgiveness would come out of the financial and college institutions that profited and contributed to this crisis, not the taxpayers.
Kinda goes back to what Saagar spoke about in a recent monolog. Reform the college system & how much tuition & boarding fees they can charge to students, while doing the loan forgiveness system.
The fact that this person doesn't seem to know the difference between government and private student loans, and that there's no mention of student loans being un-bankruptible makes this entire interview sus.
The question of standing is not a trivial one. Demonstration of actual harm, not potential harm, is a tough hurdle.
