We bailed out the banks when they should have failed and been restructured. We bailed out the airlines only to have them layoff pilots anyway.
"Oh, that 2003 law was post-9/11, obviously written for emergencies, not for overhauling our lives in the long-term" Um... so can we talk about the PATRIOT Act?
Take the money out of universities' endowments to finance 100% of the student loan debt, the schools are the ones who made profits off this. The endowments are currently not being used, so use them to fix the problem. The average American taxpayers had nothing to do with this, they are just innocent bystanders.
Once again the narrative is high jacked instead of addressing why the cost of education outpaced inflation 2 to 1 for 50 years
I’ve got my own opinions on this, but I gotta say I appreciate the hell out of Jeff Stein’s reporting. Glad he’s back and cannot wait to see him again.
The solution is simple tax the endowments to pay off the banks See how they like it
So we can sue for PPE loans then
As long as one or both of the parties actually fix the problem of the loan system itself it’s all good. FIX the actual issue.
And what about the system that created this mess - if it’s not fixed, we will be facing this issue again, again, and again.
Take the money from the universities- not the tax oayers
