I am the youngest of 8, born in 1952. My mother was so terrified of one of her children getting polio, that she enrolled the 7 of her children, who were old enough at the time, into the vaccine trials. Can you imagine trying to keep 4 little boys and 4 girls from ever jumping in a mud puddle? She saw how devastating polio is and felt it was worth the risk to get her children protection as soon as she possibly could. The added benefit was knowing participating in the trials helped the whole world. I couldn’t participate in the polio trials way back when, but both my daughter and I participated in the Covid 19 vaccine trials and we were happy to do it!😅

What does not kill you, might seriously maim you.

Vaccines are miracles. There were celebrations for the polio vaccine! My dad had it as a child.

And sometimes what doesn't kill you makes you weaker, more vulnerable to other things that WILL kill you

My friend, a healthy division 1 basketball player, died of meningitis in 2003. She was alive for less than 24 hours after she was symptomatic.

I have a friend from high school who's 18 year-old daughter went to bed with a bad headache, and woke up dead. The cause of death: meningococcall disease. This was the late 1990s.

Abortion is illegal but letting children die of unnecessary deceases is okay !.?
