Description

Sam Stein, JVL, and Semafor's Max Tani react to the Washington Post laying off roughly one-third of its newsroom staff, cutting entire desks, and shutting down major areas of coverage—including foreign bureaus during an active war. They break down what happened, who made the decisions, and why this collapse didn’t have to happen. I keep saying this but I swear the decimation of quality journalism has played a large role in the breakdown of democracy, starting with the collapse of local outlets right through to this.

Your job is not an entitlement and one can leave for another employer anytime.

Fascinating how 3 people who work in the industry can't connect the dots. Journalism has failed the world in a similar fashion as the justice system. If either one of these factions had done the job they were paid and took an oath to do. None of these nasty, perverse, inhumane, degenerates would be in a position of leadership. Humanity and children suffer and decline unnecessarily because of an editorial spin. People trust psychics and tarot readers more then they trust journalist. Journalist and editors got themselves fired by lying for a living.

Man, these ex-reporters are effed! How will they be able to find a new employer that is willing to lose money just for the honor of having them around? Now they have to go out into the real world and prove they can actually create wealth like everyone else. Will the madness never end?

If your organization stops doing investigative journalism, you aren’t a news organization.
