Gemini really went from the worst to the best that quickly
I've always had a hunch that Gemini would eventually surpass its competitors - I mean it's GOOGLE. They weren't concerned with the benchmark rat race and took their time to put out a polished, professional, competitive product when they're ready. They can afford to do so because they're one of the most established players in the tech game.
the best feature of Gemini 2.5 pro is the 64k output generation. it can really produce extremely long outputs at one go.
Use Gemini-2.5-Pro to analyse your codebase. Then give it the task you want to implement and ask for detailed implementation plan split in phases. Then use Claude 3.7 to implement each phase only on select files.
4:20 the Chinese models never disappointed me in terms of math, they are best especially for learning

I can only repeat the praise for Gemini 2.5 Pro. My little hobby project involving WebGPU shaders was almost impossible for most LLMs about a year ago. There was probably not enough training data for WebGPU and WGSL, so they confused it with Rust, Kotlin and the like. It feels like the magic sauce here was a higher quality training data set, than most other LLMs. C++ is also another major weak point for LLMs, who are mostly trained in Python and a bit of JS. Gemini generated a nearly perfect solution for my C++ game engine first try. And it was a bugfix at that. This would have taken me hours or more likely days to fix. Gemini did it in 60 seconds.
gemini 2.5 pro is just built different
Google literally runs almost ALL the ads you see online. With that kind of money to burn, Musk, Altman and Zucc never stood a chance💀
When Gemini 2.5 Pro dropped quietly, it was just revolutionary. It really addressed some of the issues that I had with other LLMs, and it has been quite a good ride so far! :D
