The most dangerous questions are the ones powerful people hope everyone gets tired of asking.

"Do you want to be a part of the 9/11 shadow commission?" - a literal email from the Epstein files.

The catch-22 with conspiracies is that real conspiracies, by definition, are usually designed to minimize evidence and conceal involvement. That makes them difficult to evaluate using the same standards we’d apply to open scientific experimentation or publicly observable events. Obviously, some conspiracy theories are absurd, but history also shows that governments, corporations, intelligence agencies, and organizations have absolutely engaged in covert operations, propaganda campaigns, and illegal activities that were denied until evidence eventually surfaced years later. I used to work in military intelligence, and PsyOps and information control are very real concepts. That doesn’t mean every conspiracy theory is true, but it does mean skepticism shouldn’t automatically flow in only one direction.

This conversation reminds me of Bridget Phetasy's recent essay, "We're All Alex Jones Now."

Anybody who's surprised by the Epstein stuff never paid attention to the corruption in the Bush administration, or the Wikileaks saga, both the stuff released by Wikileaks and the clearly conspiratorial nature of the legal case against Assange. Or looked into the 100% verified absolutely wild stuff associated with the Cold War. Conspiracies mostly aren't secret, they're just ignored or actively disbelieved by the majority of the population who either hand-wave immediately as too crazy to bother verifying or just never notice because it's outside the sphere of perception that people see as relevant to their lives.

6:39 It's discouraging when I hear intelligent people repeat the idea that it's difficult to keep a secret then go on to discuss Epstein who is still being covered up but was very much a total secret for a decade. If the assertion is that "there are no conspiracies because eventually those involved with conspiracy get caught after decades or die" then I think you're talked yourself into a circle of broken logic. I can list dozens of pdf rings that have been busted in which the highest levels of society were involved. I can list dozens of _black budget_ programs in which clandestine and illegal operations were performed by the 3 letter agencies. Who wants to bet paycheck to paycheck that there's not another version of Epstein right now setting up politicians and other powerful people to gain influence and money?? Let's wager and I'll give odds. I'm not sure if it's one's need to feel that groups of people aren't largely corrupted by incentives or the need to feel safe from the fact that evil people gain power and continue to heinous things... idk. History will continue to repeat itself despite your hand waving.😶
