Signs From the Body You Should Never Ignore - Dr Tara Swart
Neuroscience of Intuition, Gut Health, and Hacking Decision-Making
Unlock the power of your subconscious by learning how neuroscientists distinguish genuine intuitive insight from anxiety, and discover physical methods to strengthen your inner guidance system.
Short Summary
- Intuition represents pattern recognition based on total life experience, stored deeply in the limbic system and physical body tissues.
- High stress and inflammation actively degrade cognitive performance, clouding intuitive access by shifting the brain into "low power mode."
- Differentiating the protective, primal avoidance signals of instinct from genuine future-oriented insight is crucial for optimal outcomes.
- Practical training involves mindful embodiment practices and optimizing gut health, which directly enables clearer neurological processing.
- This discussion reframes intuition not as mystical, but as an evolving, essential skillset paramount in the age of artificial intelligence.

I just quit my job of 4+ years due to terrible colleagues. I really needed this right now, it solidified to me that I made the right decision
My intuition is often very strong when it comes to other people and when I might see them. Someone will pop into my head and boom, a couple hours later I see them around, either at the store or somewhere else.
those SADIA KHAN interviews are wild of you know the context of her existence now-adays
Superb episode Chris! Tara is great. You should consider interviewing Matt Armstrong the guy that rebuilds crashed and written off super cars. He's categorically the most positive human I've ever seen and undertakes near impossible tasks. When most people would give up when things go wrong he just laughs and then lists off all the positives and carries on regardless.
Thank you for giving Tara a lovely thumbnail photo! Absolute love her work and her direction. Very cool you guys had her on.

You are amazing Dr Tara 🤩 and such a beautiful smile to boot! Much aroha from 💚Aotearoa NZ x
Love this ladies insights ❤
Tara, I think you're outstanding, insightful intelligent and informed - thank you! (btw, I agree, those of us that read your books are very much empaths, intuits and intelligent people. We're just waiting for the science to catch up ! ). I've always used my intuition and my somatic response to inform my insights... I'm not saying it's empiritive evidence, but it works for me. That's my "inner wisdom" (claircognescent or sentient are new words to describe what I feel.) Thanks both for this interview.
Would be very interested to see and episode with Tara and Maya Raichoora! I think a lot of Maya’s visualisation work would bridge the concept of intuition with actionability beautifully and effectively.
