Description

Vivian, Michael & Brandon react to Rush (2013), a high-intensity sports drama based on the real-life Formula One rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda during the 1976 racing season. As the two drivers push themselves to the limit on and off the track, the film explores obsession, competition, risk, and the personal cost of greatness. This reaction stands out for its adrenaline-fueled racing sequences, emotional stakes, and character-driven rivalry, as Vivian, Michael & Brandon experience the speed, tension, and dramatic turning points in real time. Directed by Ron Howard (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Frost/Nixon), the film stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Avengers: Endgame, Extraction, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Men in Black: International), Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds, Captain America: Civil War, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Alienist, Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy, House, Booksmart, Cowboys & Aliens, Don’t Worry Darling), Alexandra Maria Lara (Downfall, Geostorm, Control, The Reader, Rush tie-ins), and Pierfrancesco Favino (World War Z, Ford v Ferrari, Angels & Demons, The Traitor, Adagio), bringing together a cast tied to major franchises, prestige dramas, and internationally recognized performances that continue to drive strong reaction and crossover audience appeal. ___________________________________________________ We've got merch! Niki Lauda himself said the film was 80% accurate which is saying a lot. Basically the main divergence from history was overplaying their rivalry. They were actually roommates early in their career and did a lot of stuff together. RIP James Hunt & Niki Lauda

Even though Lauda lived until 2019 it was this crash which eventually killed him. He needed two kidney transplants as a result of the medication he had to take for years and he also needed a lung transplant from which he never recovered because his damaged lung kept making trouble. In the end it was just too much, but he still reached 70 and lived a remarkable life.

Everyone comes to this film for Hemsworth, and he's definitely good in it, but the film belongs to Daniel Bruhl as Niki Lauda, amazing acting throughout by him

The scene where Niki tells the Priest to F off actually happened.

There is a weird error in the Translation at 40:10. Lauda does not say: It might aswell be you. He says: If i do this, then only with you.

At the Japanese Grand Prix when Lauda retires, three other drivers retired as well due to the extremely wet conditions.

One of my favorite movies. Daniel Brühl is amazing.

Daniel Brühl should have gotten an Oscar. He is Lauda to the friggin T. And Swiss F1 driver Regazzoni has enough lifestory to warrant his own movie. Paralysed after an accident he went on racing Rally. And while we are at racing fliks and documentaries: Get your hands on "Live fast - Die young" about gentlemen driver Jo Siffert.

40:07 Bad translation that makes him seem flippant, when really he declares his dedication despite being bad at romance. He says "But If I'm going to do this, then only with you."

Daniel actually spent time with Niki at his home. So he got to do his research firsthand. This is one of my absolute favorite racing movies and just movies in general 😄 The hitchhike part is hilarious, those dudes didn't stop for Marlene, they actually floored it and stopped when seeing Niki 😂
