The guy who was chewing with all the food in his mouth is Jason weaver. Very talented singer and actor. He played baby Michael Jackson in the Jacksons:an American dream. Elton John came on set one day of the Jackson miniseries and heard Jason sing. It was in that moment that Elton picked Jason to be simba’s singing voice for lion king. Jason voice at that age sounded a lot like Michael Jackson.

The Black Marching Band culture is intense and fun at the same time. We do not play around. I was a part of The Morris Brown Marching Wolverines.

It was "real people" casting. All of the assistant band directors were local ATL high school band directors...most of the band was HS & HBCU band students from ATL. The co captain of the dance girls was my HS's dance coordinator. The audience in the final battle of the band scene were local HS marching band students, they had us come out for the shoot in the GA dome. It was so much fun. It was soooo ATL

I always thought that Orlando Jones should have at least gotten an Oscar nomination for this role he played in this movie! He was so good in it!
