There are reasons Jack Nicholson is a legend, and this performance is one of them.
I worked at a video store showing this on the TV every day. During the Nicholson courtroom scene, everyone was so glued to the screen, silent. When he spilled the tea, a lot of people gasped at once. Still stays with me decades later. So glad you got to witness Rob Reiner's class act.
It's crazy to learn that Rob Riener came from comedy to Misery to A Few Good Man a straightforward Suspenseful Legal Drama. R.I.P. To the late great Rob Riener, also Tom Cruise was 29 years old when he did this movie, he's so good in this movie, he should have gotten an Oscar for this role
Kendrick "There is an informant among us. For his safety he will remain anonymous... By the way, nobody touch Private William Santiago."
10/10 Movie. Writing, Acting, Directing, Editing, Cinematography ... absolut Perfection
It is well established in international law that just following orders is not a defense. The last group who tried to claim that were the Nazis at the Nuremberg Trials
3:18 thank you Achara for recognizing Noah Wylie for his work on ER. Not that he isnt great in the Pitt of course. This movie came out about a year before ER so Noah is super young here.
I know fans may see Tom Cruise as an action star especially because of the Mission Impossible films but these are the kind of movies I like to see him in because they showcase his range as a dramatic actor. I hope Tom Cruise decides to go back to these types of roles especially now with him being in his 60s.
The actor playing the judge is James Allen Preston. He’s a LEGEND! Been in the game for decades and is still with us I believe. He’s so handsome and has an amazing voice and presence. Great casting!
I saw this movie in 92 while stationed in Japan. The best scene for a theater full of junior enlisted Marines was when Lcpl Dawson fist jammed his hands into his pockets to show his disdain (especially, since it was towards the Navy). When that scene occurred, the theater erupted into the loudest and most sustained ruckus I've ever seen or heard during any movie. Since I was a Cpl (NCO) then, I had to curtail my enthusiasm as to not endorse disrespectful behavior or actions towards an officer. Thanks for your review. Semper Fi (88-99).
