7-year old me saw this in theaters with a buddy of mine. We spent the whole afternoon watching the TMNT cartoon leading up to our movie night in which we brought our TMNT action figures with us. I didn't see any trailers so I went into this movie cold and when the Turtles jumped into frame, I knew this was going to be amazing. My friend's mom bought the VHS the day it released and as SOON AS SHE GOT HOME, a bunch of us piled into their living room to watch it again.
You know the phrase "They don't make 'em like they used to," nothing epitomizes that more than this movie.
This is still the best Ninja Turtles movie ever. I met Judith Hoag at comic con. Robin Williams was a fan of Ninja Turtles comics. He acted with her on Cadillac Man. He helped Judith prepare her for the role of April.
Wise men say forgiveness is divine but never pay full price for late pizza the most memorable line ever and a classic i always gotta eat some pizza while watching this
In the original comic book continuity, the Mutagen (Ooze) that created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is intended to be the same chemical that gave Daredevil his powers.
This movie owned my childhood.
Sai aren't blades; they were developed from farming tools for plowing, so they would be rounded for making holes and planting seeds, evolving into weapons used for defense to trap swords and bo staffs and break them.
"Who the heck is that? Wayne Gretzky...on steroids?" will forever be one my favorite lines in this movie!
At 46 I can still remember the excitement when my pops took my brother and I to watch this in the theater and will never lose that feeling even when I re-watch it. And at school, THIS is all everyone talked about at recess and even in class after it released "did ya see it, did ya see it" 🤣😂🤣 It's a damn shame they toned down Secret of the Ooze because of parents complaints for the violence in this, which was very tame.
two films were watched repeatedly as a young kid... 1989 Batman and 1990 TMNT. I can quote this film from start to finish. love it.
