Federal Reserve vs. Trump: Who Controls Interest Rates?

Trump wants to lower interest rates… without the Fed. Believe it or not, but there’s a man just as powerful as Jerome Powell, and that’s recently appointed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Scott has a plan to bring down long term interest rates by lowering bond yields. He will do this with his so called ‘3 3 3’ plan which will increase the demand for bonds, lowering yields and interest rates. Everyone at the Trump administration appears to be on board, but there’s a timer ticking in the background. The TGA is being drawn down, and when the debt ceiling is raised, the time is up. Will they bring down bond yields before it’s too late?
